The Tenafly Police Department is a service-oriented police agency that strives to provide the safest environment for its community, and anyone who finds themselves visiting or traveling through the Borough. To that end, the department is committed to providing exceptional police services that deter and reduces crime, bring offenders to justice, protect citizens and their property controls traffic and provides a comfortable and safe atmosphere for anyone within the Borough’s limits. The department strives to keep pace with new advances, practices, and tactics in the law enforcement application, and train officers on a continuing basis to attain this. Equally important to the emergency services that we provide are the lesser non-emergency services that the department prides itself on delivering to the community. Some of these services include but are not limited to child car seat installations, bicycle riding safety events, home security assessments, home, and auto lockout assistance, safety presentations, and home surveillance checks to name a few.
