Registering to Vote
Verify if you are registered to vote. Any U.S. citizen who will be 18 years old at the time of the next ensuing election, residing in the State of New Jersey and the County of Bergen for at least 30 days prior to the next election, may register to vote. You can register to vote, change your name, or change your address anytime throughout the year. However, to be eligible to vote in a school, primary, general, or special election, you must register at least 21 days before that election.

Mail-in registration forms are available at the Office of Superintendent of Elections/Commissioner of Registration in Hackensack. You may also pick up an application at the Borough Clerk’s Office, Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Late night voter registration is held in the Borough Clerk’s Office 21 days before an election in which the Office will be accepting registration forms until 9 pm.
