Municipal Recycling & Convenience Center
The Borough operates a recycling and convenience center located at 153 Grove Street (formerly the Transfer Station) for use by Tenafly residents only.
The Center is open from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays and 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday through Monday. Hours are effective May 1, 2008. The Center is closed on Tuesdays and holidays observed by the Borough. Holiday Closings 2010: 7/4, 9/6, 10/11, 11/11, 11/25, 11/26, 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, 1/1/11
Tenafly residents wishing to use the Recycling Center must register for a decal at the Office of the Borough Clerk. There is no cost. To register, residents must provide proof of residency (valid NJ Driver's License) and vehicle registration. Residents will be asked to bring the paperwork from the Borough Clerk's office to the Recycling Center where a Recycling Center employee will affix a recycling center decal to the registered automobile. Decals are not issued to commercially registered vehicles.
Residents may dispose of designated recyclable materials, such as newspapers and magazines, aluminum, glass bottles and containers, plastic containers and cardboard, and household trash, household furniture and appliances, computers and electronics, pagers and two-way radios, cell phones and accessories, used clothing, tires, tree trimmings, grass clippings and yard waste. Effective June 10, 2010, no construction and demolition debris (lumber, decking, fencing, roofing, etc.) will be accepted at the Center.
No household hazardous materials will be accepted at the recycling and convenience center.
