Municipal Recycling & Convenience Center

The Borough operates a recycling and convenience center located at 153 Grove Street (formerly the Transfer Station) for use by Tenafly residents only.

The Center is open from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday through Monday.  The Center is closed on Tuesdays and holidays observed by the Borough.

Tenafly residents wishing to use the Center must obtain a permit decal at no cost from the Office of the Borough Clerk located in Borough Hall.  Permit decals must be affixed permanently to the lower left corner of the back window of the vehicle. Permit decals will be checked at the gate and no one will be admitted to the Center without a valid permit.  Permit decals are issued upon the submission to the Office of the Borough Clerk proof of residence (valid NJ driver's license) and vehicle registration.  Permit decals are not issued for commercially licensed vehicles.

Residents may dispose of designated recyclable materials, such as newspapers and magazines, aluminum, glass bottles and containers, plastic containers and cardboard, and household trash, household furniture and appliances, computers and electronics, pagers and two-way radios, cell phones and accessories, used clothing, tires, tree trimmings, grass clippings and yard waste, and waste material from home remodeling.

No household hazardous materials will be accepted at the recycling and convenience center.
