2006 Municipal Budget

The 2006 Municipal Budget was Adopted by the Mayor and Council after a public hearing on April 25, 2006.  The Adoption of the 2006 Budget concludes the 2006 municipal budget process.

The 2006 Budget in the amount of $21,879,249 reflects a $1,403,942, or 6.85 %, increase over the 2005 Budget. Of this total budget increase, non-discretionary or mandatory increases account for $925,961 of the appropriation increases.

The 2006 Budget requires a municipal purpose tax increase of 3.4 tax points from $0.542 to $0.576 per $100 of assessed valuation.  The new municipal open space tax approved by the voters last November will result in an additional $0.01 per $100 of assessed valuation.  Therefore, the total municipal purpose tax rate will increase from $0.542 for 2005 to $0.586 for 2006.

The municipal purpose tax increase for the home assessed at $620,000, the Borough's average assessment, will be approximately $273 in 2006.
