Municipal Field
Located behind the Tenafly Library. Used for softball, soccer, and football. Field use by permit only. Permit may be obtained at Recreation Office.
McCandless Room
Located in the Municipal Center, it is used primarily by Borough organizations. Use of Room permits must be obtained from the Recreation Office. Non-residents and outside organizations must receive approval from the Recreation Commission.
Sunnyside Park
Located between Oak Avenue and Ivy Lane. Used for baseball, softball, and soccer. Walking path and playground. Field use by permit only. Permit can be obtained at Recreation Office.
Basketball
Municipal Courts are located on Tenafly Road across from the Tenafly Post Office. Courts are lighted from dusk to 10:00 p.m. with the exception of December, January, and February when the lights are off.
Tennis
There are a total of twelve (12) tennis courts. Seven (7) are located at Roosevelt Common (three are lighted). Five (5) are located behind the Tenafly High School. Badges are required for use of Municipal Tennis Courts as of April 1st, and may be purchased in the Recreation Office.
Tennis Photo I.D. Badges
Tenafly Recreation is now issuing Photo I.D. badges to Tenafly Residents. You may apply for a tennis badge at the Recreation Office. Children (5-15) years old $5.00. Adults (16-61) $10.00, Seniors (62+) $8.00. Guest Badges (maximum of three) $15.00. You must have proof of residency. Drivers License or current utility bill.
Skate Park
The Skate Park opened in February of 2005. It is open to Tenafly and Alpine residents only! All users must obtain a skate park badge from the Recreation Office. There is no fee. The park is open from 3:00 pm to dark on school days, 10:00 am - dark on Saturdays and non-school days and 12:00 pm - dark on Sundays. The skate park will be closed when equipment or surface areas are wet or icy. All park users must wear proper safety equipment including a helmet, knee and elbow pads.
Walking/Jogging : Tenafly Board of Education trackis located at the Tenafly Middle School
Sledding : Sledding is permitted at the hill located at the Municipal Center, weather permitting.
General Information & Policies
Eligibility : Anyone who is a resident of Tenafly is eligible to participate in one of our recreation programs providing proof of age and grade requirements are met. Non-residents are eligible for our waiting list after our residents have registered; as long as ther is space available, you may enroll in programs for a non-resident fee. Non-residents will be able to register one full week after the registration date.
Enrollment : Programs fill on a first come, first served basis. Classes with a limit will be so noted.
Late Registration Fee : Any participant who registers after the one full week of registration will be charged a $5.00 late fee for a program of $50.00 or less and a $10.00 late fee for a program above $50.00.
Payment Policies : Full Payment must accompany the registration form. One check may be written for multiple programs. Checks should be made payable to Tenafly Recreation. (Checks are preferred) or payment may be made with exact cash. There is a $20.00 fee for checks returned for insufficient funds.
