About the Commission

The Environmental Commission promotes an environmental, ecological conservation and natural resources program for the Borough of Tenafly. The Commission has the power to study and make recommendations to the Mayor and Council concerning the following topics:

  • Air pollution control
  • Noise control
  • Open space preservation
  • Protection of flora and fauna
  • Soil and landscape protection
  • Solid waste management
  • Water resources management
