Tenafly leverage volunteers to help with emergencies.  Cars with flashing blue lights are responding to an emergency.  Please clear the road to grant them access.

Home Security and Guidelines

  • Alarms must be registered with the police 

  • House numbers must be at least 6” high, reflective and clearly visible 
  • Free home security surveys are available 

Unused Medicine Disposal

Unused medicines may be disposed of at Police Headquarters

Lightening Detectors

All municipal fields are protected with lightning detectors. You must leave the field when sirens sound.  For more information, click here.

Snow Removal

All snow must be cleared away from sidewalks and fire hydrants within 24 hours of the snow ending.

  • Helmets required for under 14 years of age
  • Knee, wrist guards & elbow pads should be worn for skateboards and roller blades
  • Motorized scooters must be registered & insured
